Two things
Okay like I said, two thingss to mention. The first being I had my first training session with Fuego, and the second is I found a new band.
Okay Fuego, went well, played well, but I can tell I'm not quite up to par as far as fitness with some of these other guys, but I suprised myself, and I think I suprised Jaime as well, 'nough said about that.
Second, new band in the CD player. Panic! At The Disco.
If you have never heard of them, definatley check them out. I feel that their recipe is as follows, start with the Killers, add a lounge singer, throw in a smidgen of Daft Punk and top it off with a dallop of Ben Folds. Fun quirky music accompanied by matching lyrics make it a fun listen. If you have heard them , let me know what you think, if not seriously check'em out.

Weekend Produces Two Winners?
Yes folks that is correct, the events that occurred in this past weekend presents us with not one, but two winners.
Suprisingly Ed is one of our winners, and even more suprisingly, me, I am also a winner. I know what you are asking yourself, "but how could that be, his pool sucked?" And you are right my pool did suck, but that didn't stop me from getting some new sunglasses this weekend. I purchased a pair of The Ones by Hoven. Not only are they sweet, they are polorized to protect my baby blues.
Yes, and as I said before Ed has won our pathetically tiny NCAA pool. It would have been Adam, but Ed had one saving grace...he was the only one to pick a Final Four team, Florida. That pick pushed him to a 69, two points over Adam. Becky rounds out the middle with 52 points and yes I get my five bucks back with an astounding 47 points. Sorry to all you losers who didn't win anything this weekend, but now we can watch the rest of the games, which should be great without worrying about who is gonna win.

The Tourney Continues......For Some
Even though the games last night were great and exciting, they essentially put two of us in the running for the worst bracket category and two of us in the running to win the damn thang! So as me and ed now root for our remaining teams to lose, Becky and Adam will be rooting for theirs to win. Duke losing killed Ed while Gonzaga losing killed me. The interesting thing between Adam and Becky's brackets is only one team. Becky will need Texas to keep pulling off last second wins, while Adam will need Memphis to keep dominating teams, but for both teams they should only do this until the final, 'cause they both have their teams losing to U CONN. Oh how exciting this will end up. Good luck.
I put these pictures up because I though that they represented March Madness to the fullest, the joy, ecstasy, and elation as well as the pain, agony and anguish. All the things you rarely see in professional sports.

New Fav Band
So I got this CD on a whim, Funeral For A Friend, "Hours", and I really dig it. I can't really explain why, but I really enjoy them. I just thought maybe someone else had heard the album and wante to put in their two cents, positive or negative.
New Quiz!
This is a neat one.
The Carnal Lover 50% partner focus, 61% aggressiveness, 70% adventurousness |
Based on the results of this test, it is highly likely that: You prefer your romance and love to wild and daring rather than typical or boring, you would rather pursue than be pursued and, when it comes to physical love, you concentrate more on enjoying the experience rather than worrying about your performance. This places you in the Lover Style of: The Carnal Lover. The Carnal Lover is a wonderful Lover Style, though it is often confused with terms like "player" or even "slut." The Carnal Lover is not necessarily either of those things (though sometimes is) but is instead a lover of life, romance and pleasure. The Carnal Lover is a treasure to find, though can sometimes be difficult to keep happy once found, because a Carnal Lover often loves a variety-filled life. In terms of physical love, the Carnal Lover tends to be dynamic and driven, and can therefore be quite pleasurable. Given the right motivation, and the right lover, the Carnal Lover can be a delight in bed. Best Compatibility can probably be found with: The Surprising Lover (most of all) or the Devoted Lover, or the Liberated Lover. Congratulations! If you enjoyed this test, I would love the feedback! What Beer Am I?
Boddingtons (33% dark & bitter, 33% working class, 100% genuine) |
Boddingtons is a slightly ritzy, but truly tasty, beer. In case you don't know, each can has this little contraption inside that fizzes when you open it to give the beer a delicious creamy head. Now, being a good girl, I will make no claims about the creaminess of your head. But I will suggest that, based on the results of your test, you have a light, friendly disposition, and I consider the bouyant fizz of a Boddingtons to be the beery analogue of that. Your test also indicates you have refined tastes, and Boddingtons is my favorite beer. If you've never had one, get one sometime soon. |
My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

What Ever Shall We Do?
So now that Well Wed has dissolved and disappeared like an Alka-Seltzer when you have an upset stomach, what are going to do on night s like tonight? Should we stay faithful to the place that has provided us with so many great wed nights, as well as Ron and the Princess lady. Or do we say "screw you for taking away our cheap drink prices" and mosey on down to the next watering hole? I'll tell you the truth, I don't think I have an opinion either way, not like it would matter. I just thought I would throw that out there in case you all forgot.

Registered
So I feel great right now, I did something that will make me a better person, and it only took me a couple of minutes. I am now a registered voter. I've actually registered two times before, but somehow they never went through. I did it in high school and then again in college, I also filled one out about a year ago and left it in my truck and I stepped on it with wet muddy shoes and couldn't mail it in like that. I still have to mail thin one in, but it is in the out-going mail slot in my office, so hopefully it will work this time, and at the tender age of 25 I will be able to vote for the first time.
Change of Pace
i felt like i should post something other than NCAA stuff, so i am going to write something down here. alex's dad past yesterday and i went home after work and proceeded to get kinda drunk with the guy. i am a bit lazy and tired this morning, so no "caps", but i will muster up the strength to put quotations around CAPS for some reason. anyways i hope you all enjoyed this i know i sure did, catch you all on the flip side.
oh, i almost forgot, my boys had association cup this past weekend, and they played the best soccer i have seen them play in forever. we played the #6 ranked team in the state, a team we've played before and lost to 4-0, this time we had the win but the got the equalizer with 2 seconds left, literally. then we played the #4 team in the state and tied them 0-0 and we had 2 goals called back. on sunday we won 2-0 but completely dominated this team, and i got to yell at their parents for sitting on our side. we came in second in our bracket so we do not get to move on unfortunately, but the boys played great, and my brother and i had a great time.

Sweet 16
Well, anther great NCAA Tournament thus far, so I thought I would give you all an update on how everyone is doing and how many teams they have in the Sweet 16. First lets start with Becky. In the Atlanta Region, she has 3 of 4 teams, Duke, LSU and Texas, in Oakland, 2 of 4, Gonzaga and UCLA. In D.C. she is perfect, 4 of 4, but in Minneapolis she only picked 1, Villanova. Ed also has 10 teams in the Sweet 16, Duke and Tex in the Atlanta, Memphis Zags and UCLA, in Oakland, U Conn and Washington at D.C. with Nova Florida and Georgetown rounding out Minneapolis. Adam with an impressive 11 of the Sweet 16, perfect in Atlanta. Almost in Oakland, Memphis, Zags and UCLA. Two each in Min and D.C. U Conn and Washington, and Nova and B.C. Then there is my pathetic bracket, I only have 9 teams. Not only that, but I am the first to have the pick for champion get knocked out, Tennessee. So good luck to you guys and I'll talk to ya'll later.

NCAA Update
Well it was an exciting first round, with some great upsets which Adam picked alot of them, unfortunately for him he went crazy with the underdog and missed some really easy picks. But don't worry buddy, the race is still too close to call. Adam went 11/16 just like Ed. While Becky and I went 12/16. Fortunatly for Adam the teams that lost for him, he only had them going one round, unlike the rest of us. Good luck in round two.

NCAA Madness
Okay, I've never ran a pool before, so I don't know all of the ins and outs, so if anyone has some input to help me out, it would be appreciated. I was thinking $5 per bracket entered, pool goes to the winner, minus the $5 for the worst performing bracket. Like I said, I don't know how these things normally work and I tried to develop a points system to determine the winner. Sweet 16-1 pt per team, Elite 8-2 pts per team, Final 4-3 pts per team, Final 2-4 pts per team and if you pick the champ-30 pts. I think that should separate someone apart. In case of a tie, split the pool. If you have any suggestions let me know where I screwed up. Games start thrs so get your bracket done asap, maybe by well wed.

Golf Video
Okay, I finally got around, like so many others, to creating a you tube account so I could post videos and whatnot. So here is a video of me Adam and Potter. For those who don't know Potter, he is the other guy that is not Adam, and he is an English prof at FSU, thus the cricket comments, the rest of the video is just me screwing (like the part with the monkey bouncing into his netted cage) around with this program, but watch till the end, it gets kinda funny. Enjoy.
March Madness
Hey, I don't know if anyone would be interested or cares but the NCAA Basketball Tourney is right around the corner and the pools are always fun. So I was thinking maybe 5 bucks gets you in per bracket you enter, and winner gets the pot. Nothing complicated, and maybe the worst bracket gets their 5 bucks back for sucking so bad. Try this( Print out your brackets now! ) link to get a printable bracket and let me know if y'all wanna do it.
I'm having trouble with the link, so go to Fox Sports and then the college basketball section to get one, but I am sure there are tons of other places to get one.

I don't like this one

but i guess it is kinda true to some degree.
RON....May you too one day bask in his GLORY?
Now Adam may have already posted something last night when he got home, or he might not have gotten to it, either way, last night was one of the greatest nights ever, of any night, not just a Well Wednesday. Last night we had the pleasure, nay the privilege of meeting Ron. I wish you all could have been there, a mere blog about the man will never do him justice.
Ron, an award winning director who will blow your mind with not only his knowledge on multiple topics, but with his asininedrunken sputterings of complete foolishness and retardation. This man was one of the drunkest men I have ever seen, and I am assuming that he continued to drink long after Adam and I left. Not only was he able to tell us all about whats wrong with all of the war movies we like, i.e. Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, etc., but he could tell us about women, stupid pets, and what is wrong with this "stupid city".
But Ron not only provided us with entertainment, he helped us bridge racial gaps. Not a topic normally available in Well Wednesday conversation, but we were able to do that when Ron gave this very funny African-American fellow a hug. I don't want to retell everything, so check out Adam's blog for some of Ron's pearls of wisdom.
Oh, did I forget to mention that his award was a local award for a Whitie's Pet Store commercial, yeah, he almost didn't mention that to us either.

Okay, this is the Comedy Central special that I saw that opened my eyes to Stephen, and I think I laughed all the way through the commercial break after this song, probably my fave. Enjoy.
Something to Brighten Your Day
Okay, this guy is really funny and I hope that I am doing this correctly. Enjoy and laugh your ass right(don't worry Becky it is a defense mechanism) off. His name is Stephen Lynch, the Singing Comic. This is just a little titter taste.
